24/7 Emergency Service
Roof Replacement Services for North Carolina Homes
A new roof buys you 25–50 years of peace of mind — if it is installed right the first time. AARC delivers replacements with Owens Corning Preferred and CertainTeed Shingle Master certified crews, backed by manufacturer warranties up to 50 years.

When a Replacement Is Actually the Right Answer
Roof Replacements
A full roof replacement is the single largest exterior-home investment most homeowners will ever make — and it is one that should only be made when it is genuinely necessary. At Above All Roofing & Construction, we will never pressure you into a replacement. We will tell you honestly when repair is the right answer, and we will tell you just as honestly when your roof has reached the point where replacement is the responsible, cost-effective, long-term decision.
Our replacement process is built around three principles: transparent material selection, manufacturer-specification installation, and extended system warranties that are actually worth the paper they are printed on. As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and CertainTeed Shingle Master, we are authorized to offer extended system warranties — up to 50 years non-prorated on eligible installations — that uncertified contractors simply cannot match.
Every replacement includes new underlayment, new drip edge, new starter strip, new ridge cap or ridge vent, new pipe boots, new step and counter flashing, and — when required — new deck sheathing. We replace roofs on homes across the Triangle and coastal NC. Most single-family asphalt shingle replacements are completed in a single day, with you in your home the whole time.
How We Know When Replacement Is the Right Call
Is It Time?
We inspect every roof and give you our honest assessment. Here are the most common findings that indicate a full replacement — not a repair — is the right long-term decision.
Roof Over 20 Years Old
Most asphalt shingles are rated at 25–30 years under ideal conditions. NC's heat, humidity, UV exposure, and storm frequency accelerate real-world aging. A 20+ year-old shingle roof in NC is typically approaching the end of its practical service life, even if it still looks acceptable from the ground.
Multiple Simultaneous Problem Areas
One isolated leak is a repair. Three leaks in different parts of the roof is a sign of systemic failure — the shingles themselves are reaching end of life and repair will be a game of whack-a-mole until a replacement is inevitable.
Significant Granule Loss
Heavy granule accumulation in gutters, bald spots where asphalt is exposed, and widespread granule loss across the field shingles mean the shingles have lost their weather-protective surface and will fail rapidly with the next UV season.
Deck Sheathing Water Damage
If the plywood or OSB beneath the shingles has been compromised by long-term water intrusion — evidenced by soft spots, discoloration, or visible rot — repair-over-existing is not an option. The deck must be replaced as part of a full reroof.
Insurance-Approved Storm Claim
When hail or wind damage has been severe enough for your insurance carrier to approve a replacement claim, the replacement is typically the right answer even if the roof looks acceptable. The hidden damage will fail within years.
Pre-Sale or Pre-Renewal Timing
A roof known to be near end of life will appear on a buyer's home inspection report and cost you negotiating leverage. Many homeowners proactively replace before listing. We provide pre-listing estimates and can often schedule on a timeline that works with your closing date.
The 10-Step AARC Roof Replacement — From Inspection to Warranty
Our Replacement Process
From the free inspection to the warranty registration package — every step designed so you always know exactly what is happening and what comes next.
Free Inspection & Assessment
We walk the roof, check the attic underside, photograph every finding, and deliver a written condition report. If your roof does not actually need replacement, we will tell you.
Material Consultation
We bring physical shingle samples — different products, colors, manufacturers — and place them on your roof in natural light. We walk through pros, cons, and cost-differential. There is no "best" shingle for every home.
Detailed Written Estimate
A line-item written estimate specifying exact material, underlayment, accessories, warranty tier, and total pricing. No vague "roof replacement — $X" bids. Every component itemized before you sign anything.
Contract & Deposit
Formal contract with scope, pricing, payment schedule, projected start date, and warranty terms. Deposit collected; materials and crew scheduling begins.
Permit Pull & Material Delivery
Where permits are required, we pull them on your behalf. Materials delivered 1–2 days before the start date, typically staged in your driveway.
Tear-Off, Cleanup & Final Inspection
Crew arrives early — landscaping protected, tarps down, HVAC covered. Tear-off typically takes 2–4 hours. Magnetic nail sweepers run across driveway, lawn, and walkways before we leave. Final roof walk for quality check and property walk-through with you for sign-off.
Deck Inspection & Sheathing Repair
With the deck exposed, we document any compromised sheathing with photos. Per-sheet repair rate is pre-established in your contract so there are no pricing surprises.
Installation to Spec
Drip edge, ice-and-water shield, synthetic underlayment, starter strip, flashing, valley metal, pipe boots, field shingles, ridge vent, ridge cap — in sequence, per manufacturer specification.
Warranty Registration & Closeout
Within 60 days, we register your manufacturer warranty on your behalf. You receive: final invoice, warranty registration confirmation, AARC workmanship warranty, product spec sheets, and full photo documentation.
What Actually Determines Your Replacement Price
What Drives the Cost
Roof replacements in NC range in price dramatically — from roughly $8,000 on a small, simple home with basic shingles to well over $60,000 on a large, complex home with premium standing seam metal. The single most common question we get is “how much does a new roof cost?” — and the honest answer is that it depends on your specific roof.
We will give you a firm, line-item written estimate after inspecting the property. No guesswork, no ranges without seeing your roof first.
Transparent Pricing. Line-Item Estimates. No Surprises.

Roof Replacement FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family asphalt shingle replacements are completed in one day. Larger homes, complex architecture, or significant deck repair can extend to 2–3 days. Metal roofs typically take 3–5 days.
Will I need to leave my home during the replacement?
No. Move vehicles from the driveway, remove fragile items from walls and shelves (vibration), and otherwise live normally. We protect your landscaping, HVAC units, and exterior features throughout.
What happens if deck sheathing damage is found after tear-off?
We stop, photograph the damaged areas, and contact you before any repairs proceed. Per-sheet repair pricing is pre-agreed in your contract, so there are no surprise charges.
What if it rains during my project?
We monitor weather and will not start a tear-off if rain is forecast within the installation window. If weather changes mid-project, your exposed deck is immediately tarped and secured before crews leave.
Can my existing gutters stay in place during a roof replacement?
In most cases, yes. We work around existing gutters unless they need replacement themselves. In some cases we temporarily remove and re-hang gutter sections to properly install drip edge.
Do you offer financing?
Yes — 0% introductory rates and low-APR long-term options available. Military discounts for active duty, veterans, and reservists. Ask during your consultation.
