Seamless Gutter Installation and Gutter Guards for North Carolina
Seamless aluminum gutters cut on-site to the exact length of your roofline — 5" and 6" profiles, every major color, and a full range of leaf-protection systems. Installed by AARC crews across the Triangle and coast.

Gutters Do More Work Than Most Homeowners Realize
Seamless Gutters & Guards
Gutters are the single most underrated component of a home’s exterior. When they work, you almost never notice them. When they fail, they cause more damage to American homes than almost any other single exterior component — more than roof failures, more than siding failures, often more than storm damage. A failed gutter system means water dumping next to your foundation, overflowing onto fascia and soffit, and eroding soil from landscaping and walkways.
Above All Roofing & Construction takes gutters seriously. Our gutter division installs seamless aluminum gutters in 5″ and 6″ profiles across the Triangle and coastal regions, cut on-site to the exact length of your roofline using portable gutter machines. We also install a full range of leaf-protection systems and handle gutter repair, cleaning, and downspout optimization as standalone services.
The key difference between what we install and what most homeowners have: seamless. A 40-foot eave run becomes a single 40-foot continuous gutter with zero seams. The only joints in a seamless system are at corners and downspout outlets — typically 3–6 joints on an average home instead of 12–20 on a sectional system. Fewer joints means fewer leak points, less maintenance, and a dramatically longer trouble-free service life.
Profiles, Materials & Guard Systems — Everything We Install
What We Install
Profile sizing, material, and guard system all affect performance and long-term maintenance. We help you choose the right combination for your roof area, local rainfall, and tree coverage.
5" K-Style (Residential Standard)
The most common residential gutter size in NC. K-style profile — flat back and bottom with a decorative front edge resembling crown molding. Handles water runoff from most residential roof areas (up to 1,200 sq ft per downspout). The appropriate sizing for the vast majority of single-family homes. All colors, cut on-site to exact length.
6" K-Style (The Upgrade)
Moves 40% more water than 5" gutters. The right choice for larger roof areas, steeper pitches, complex water-flow patterns, or homes where heavy rainfall regularly overwhelms existing gutters. Pairs with 3"x4" downspouts that move far more water and clog far less. For coastal homes where hurricane rainfall is a factor, 6" is often the better spec.
Half-Round & Copper Gutters
Half-round gutters for historic homes, churches, and high-end residential applications where the traditional profile is specified. Copper gutters for premium aesthetic projects where the natural patina is the design intent — effectively unlimited service life. We install both on select projects.
Micro-Mesh Guards (Premium)
The highest-performing guard category. Stainless-steel mesh with 40–50 micron holes — small enough to block even pine needles and shingle granules. Reduces cleaning frequency from twice a year to once every 3–5 years. The right choice for most clients who want to genuinely minimize gutter maintenance long-term.
Reverse-Curve Guards
Solid-top cover with a small slot at the front edge — water adheres to the curved surface and flows in while debris falls away. Works well in certain tree-coverage conditions. Can be overwhelmed in heavy rainfall and less effective with fine pine needles. Brands include Gutter Helmet, Gutter Topper, LeafGuard.
Foam Inserts & Screen Guards
Foam inserts are the most economical guard option — porous foam wedges that fit inside the gutter and block large debris while allowing water through. 5–10 year service life. Fine screen guards stop large leaves but allow pine needles and seed pods through. We install both where specifically requested and budget is the primary driver.
Our Gutter Installation Process — From Measurement to Final Hang
Installation Process
Every AARC gutter installation follows the same thorough process — proper sizing, proper pitch, proper fascia inspection, and proper downspout termination. No shortcuts.
Free Inspection & Sizing
We inspect existing gutters, fascia condition, downspout placement, and grade around the foundation. We measure every run, calculate flow requirements based on roof area and pitch, and recommend the appropriate profile sizing — 5" vs. 6" — and downspout count.
Color Selection
Seamless aluminum gutters available in 20+ baked-enamel colors. We bring color chips and help match your siding, trim, and fascia. Standard colors include white, off-white, almond, sandstone, brown, dark bronze, black, hunter green, and more. Custom colors available.
On-Site Fabrication
Our portable gutter machine cuts each run from aluminum coil stock at your property — producing a seamless gutter the exact length of your roofline. No joints, no splices, no seams in the middle of a run. This is what separates professional seamless installation from DIY sectional systems.
Fascia Inspection & Prep
Before hanging, we inspect every fascia board for rot, damage, or inadequate attachment. Rotted fascia is documented with photos and addressed before new gutters are installed — because hanging new gutters on failing wood is money wasted.
Installation & Downspout Placement
Gutters hung with appropriate pitch toward downspout outlets. Fastened with hidden hex-head screws at 16" intervals — not spike-and-ferrule, which eventually works loose. Downspouts positioned for optimal flow and termination a minimum of 4–6 feet from the foundation.
Downspout Termination
The single biggest downspout issue on older homes is improper termination — dumping water directly onto a concrete pad next to the foundation. We install extensions, splash blocks, and underground drain pipe where needed to carry water well away from the home.
Guard Installation (If Selected)
Guards installed to manufacturer specification after the gutter system is complete and verified. We test water flow through each guard section with a hose before leaving the property to confirm proper function under simulated rain.
Repair & Cleaning (Standalone)
Re-sealing joints, rehanging pulled sections, replacing downspouts, and re-pitching settled runs — all available without full replacement. Standalone gutter cleaning also available: debris removal, downspout flushing, and written condition report. Typically $150–$400 depending on home size.
Written Estimate & Warranty
Written estimate before any work begins. AARC workmanship warranty delivered at project closeout covering attachment, pitch, sealant at joints, and downspout connection. Manufacturer material warranty on aluminum and guard systems documented in your project closeout package.
Signs It's Time for New Gutters
Do You Need New Gutters?
Most homeowners don’t think about gutters until they fail visibly. But by the time water is overflowing or pooling at the foundation, the damage accumulation has often already been underway for years. Here are the signs we look for during every gutter inspection — any one of these warrants a call.
The honest answer: if your gutters are sectional and over 15 years old, or if you are resealing joints more than once every few years, seamless replacement is almost always the better long-term investment over continued repair.
Transparent Gutter Pricing — Sized and Cut On-Site
Gutter Pricing in NC
Most full-home seamless gutter replacement projects in our service area fall in the $1,500–$4,500 range for the gutters themselves, with gutter guards adding 50–100% to that baseline depending on the guard system selected. We provide firm written estimates after measuring your roofline — no price-per-linear-foot guesswork without seeing the actual project.

Gutter FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need 5" or 6" gutters?
Roof area and pitch determine flow requirements. Homes with roof areas over 1,200 sq ft draining to a single downspout, steep pitches, or complex rooflines with concentrated water flow typically benefit from 6″ gutters. We calculate this during your free inspection — you should not have to guess.
Do gutter guards eliminate cleaning entirely?
Premium micro-mesh guards dramatically reduce cleaning frequency — most homeowners go from twice-yearly cleaning to once every 3–5 years. No guard system is truly maintenance-free in heavy-pine or heavy-oak environments, but the reduction is significant and real. The mesh itself occasionally needs to be rinsed off after heavy pollen or needle drop.
Can you install gutter guards on my existing gutters?
Usually yes, provided the existing gutters are structurally sound and properly pitched. If the gutters are sagging, pulling away from fascia, or improperly pitched, we typically recommend replacement before adding guards — installing guards on a bad gutter system just locks in the existing problems.
Are your gutters installed with screws or spikes?
Always hidden hex-head screws driven through the back of the gutter into the fascia at 16″ intervals. Spike-and-ferrule installations — the old standard — eventually work loose as the wood dries out and the spike loses its grip. Screw-fastened gutters do not have this problem.
How long does gutter installation take?
Most single-family homes are completed in one day. Larger homes or those requiring fascia board repair can take 2 days. Guard installation adds a half-day to a full day depending on linear footage and guard system selected.
Do you offer emergency gutter repair?
Yes. Separated gutters, downspouts dumping against the foundation, and active overflow situations can all be addressed as emergency repairs. Call either office and we can typically respond within 24–72 hours for active situations.
